SUMMARY:Probus President's Lunch - Thursday 25th April 2024
DESCRIPTION:We are fast approaching one of the key events of this year’s Crowborough Probus programme – our President’s Lunch.  This event serves three purposes.  Firstly it provides an occasion for our formal residency handover ceremony in which the retiring President removes his chain of office and formally bestows it upon his successor\, secondly it allows us to continue the Crowborough Probus tradition of recognizing St. George’s Day\, and thirdly it reminds us of the birthday of the Club some thirty-seven years ago. \nOur lunch will take place on Thursday the 25th of April in the lovely Chandelier Suite of the Tunbridge Wells Spa Hotel.  We will have our own Bar inside the Chandelier Suite from where drinks and wine will be available to purchase.  The cost of the event will be £42 per person\, and  you are of course especially invited!  The event will start from 12.00 to give everyone lots of time to chat with other members\, and then the lunch itself will be served at 12.45.  The menu for the meal is attached\, and as recently advised by the President\, the Club prefers that payment and meal selection is performed via our website.  However should this not be possible\, please make your selections on the attached form and return it with you cheque to Philip Spicer by the 11th of April. \nTo pay via our website\, please click on Get Tickets below\, Add ‘1’ to the Ticket and click on Get Tickets.  On the next page\, complete the Boxes (with your name\, your meal selections\, and transport info)\, and then click on ‘Checkout Now’.    On the Checkout Screen\, enter your personal information unless it has appeared automatically\, and then click on Proceed to Pay.   On the following PayPal page\, either enter your PayPal password (if you have one)\, or alternatively click on Pay by Debit or Credit Card as you wish\, and payment will be taken.  Then please Logoff\, and repeat the procedure for your spouse\, friend \,etc. (although the system will allow you to enter multiple names and meal choices if you initially enter a number of Tickets greater than ‘1’).  Please also note that you will receive an email shortly after using the website which will confirm your booking and detail your meal choices. \nPlease let us know if you need help with transport.   We are seeking a very good turnout from everybody to really fill the large Chandelier Suite and to this end please feel free to bring a few guests with you if you wish.  We do hope that you will attend this special President’s Lunch.  We look forward very much to seeing you on the 25th of April and thank you very much indeed for your very kind and welcome support. \nYours sincerely\, \n       Bob                  Philip                  Chris \nBob Bruce         Philip Spicer          Chris Rapley \n
